Estimate your monthly repayment and total interest on an equipment loan
Estimate only. Actual repayments depend on the lender, your credit profile and final loan documentation.
The calculator uses a standard reducing balance calculation, the same method used across our other asset finance calculators.
The calculator estimates your monthly repayment, the amount you are financing and the total interest over the life of the loan, using a standard reducing balance calculation. It gives you a starting point for budgeting, not a final figure.
The rate you're offered depends on the type of equipment, whether it's new or used, the age of the asset at the end of the term, your credit and trading history, and the lender. With access to over 60 lenders, we compare options rather than relying on a single lender's rate card.
This is a budgeting tool, not a quote. The figures above leave out several things that affect the real cost.
This calculator provides an estimate only and is not a loan offer, quote or pre-approval. Actual repayments, rates and fees depend on the lender, the asset being financed and your individual circumstances, and are subject to normal lending criteria and credit approval.
The structure you choose changes the tax and GST treatment. See our Equipment Finance page for the full detail.
Own from day one. Claim GST immediately and maximise depreciation deductions. Ideal for GST-registered businesses.
Ownership transfers at end of term. Lease payments are fully tax deductible and may stay off balance sheet.
Fixed payments with ownership at the end. Interest and depreciation are deductible. Simple, straightforward structure.
Yes, we regularly finance quality used equipment. Equipment under 5 years old typically presents minimal issues. Older equipment may require larger deposits or attract higher rates.
Many equipment finance arrangements require no deposit for new equipment. Used equipment typically requires a 10 to 20 percent deposit. Providing a deposit can reduce your interest rate.
Yes, most lenders allow "soft costs" including delivery, installation, training and extended warranties to be included, typically up to 15 to 20 percent of the equipment cost.
Equipment finance rates are often more competitive than unsecured business loans (typically 6.5 to 12 percent) because the equipment itself serves as security. Vendor programmes may offer even lower promotional rates.
Equipment finance generally allows early termination. Costs include the remaining principal, accrued interest, and typically one to three months' early termination fee.
The calculator uses the rate you enter to estimate repayments. It can't tell you what rate you'd actually be offered, since that depends on the asset, your credit history and trading history, and the lender. Book a call and we'll compare real options for your situation.
